NIPD Genetics LTD has filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office covering the identification of fetal-specific methylation markers on chromosomes 13, 18, 21, X and Y and the development of a Non-Invasive Prenatal Diagnostic (NIPD) test for Down syndrome (trisomy 21). This phase of the patent process has been completed and the second phase entails filing the patent at the national level in countries of interest.
